When is the best time to use the Prokeratin® products?
The best time to use the anti hair loss Prokeratin® products is during or immediately after showering, bathing, when the hair is wet and the scalp skin is soft.
How long will the content last?
Typically, a bottle may last anywhere from 30 to 60 days, according to your specific situation.
What does "strength grade" mean?
The concentration of the active ingredients in the Prokeratin products is measured in strength grades, varying from 1 (mild concentration) to 3 (highly concentrated).
The strength grade indicates how concentrated the product is, and it defines the age groups that can use that particular products.
SerComplex and ULTRA contain thermo active ingredients. What does this mean?
These products contain thermo active ingredients which are activated and work best at skin temperature above 38 degrees Celsius/100 F.
It is best to apply the treatment immediately after shower or bathing.
Applying the content of these products on cold skin, delays the absorption of the ingredients, reduces their effectivity and contributes to longer exposure time.
If I have a sensitive or difficult scalp skin can I use Prokeratin®?
Yes, all Prokeratin® can be used on difficult scalp skin or on the scalp skin with dermatological problems; however, due to high concentration of active ingredients, Prokeratin® ULTRA should be tested first by applying on a small portion of the skin a few drops of product.
If allergy or irritation develops within 30 minutes, it is recommended to use Prokeratin® SerComplex in place of Prokeratin® ULTRA.
Can the Prokeratin® Anti Hair Loss products be used in conditions such as psoriasis, pityriasis simplex capillitii (pityriasis capitis) and seborrhea sicca?
Yes, all the Prokeratin® products can be used and it is actually recommended to use them in such cases.
Is Prokeratin® tested on pregnat women or lactating women?
The Prokeratin® products have not been tested on the specified groups and no specific results are available for the above groups.
Does it mean that if I use Prokeratin® my hair loss will completely stop and no single hair strand will fall again?
No. Hair loss is a natural biological process and old, dead hair must be replaced by the new one.
It is not possible to stop completely this process and such expectations are unrealistic.
Simply put, the life cycle of the follicle implies that at one given moment in time, the end-product as we see it, the hair stand, must be replaced by a new one.
The Prokeratin® line is designed to tackle the miniaturization process, also known as "getting bald".
With Prokeratin® you can control better alopecia androgenetica and maintain a healthy, longer hair life cycle with better DHT-protected follicles.
Is it true that transplanted hair stays on the scalp and will never fall again?
It is true that transplanted hair is not sensitive to DHT and in time will not enter in the miniaturization cycle.
It is false to assume that the normal hair loss of 30 to 100 stands a day will be completely avoided.
Even transplanted hair goes through the same life cycle as the replaced hair: telogen anagen, catagen.
Therefore normal day-to-day hair loss will occur but the balding process is absent since the transplants are neutral to DHT.
Why should I spend extra to use two or more products when I think the shampoo will do just fine?
As described in our comparison chart each Prokeratin® product was developed for certain groups of consumers, they play different roles and they contain various concentrations of 5ARD inhibitor. It is recommended that you use a combination of Prokeratin® products to maximize their effects.
I prefer Finasteride-based products but I would like to try a natural hair care product. Can I use Prokeratin® in combination with Finasteride- or (amino)Minoxidil-based products?
Yes, it is possible to combine Prokeratin® with these products; however they should not be mixed or applied together at the same time. Only after a break period of at least one hour interval so you reduce the chemical stress on the skin.
Is Prokeratin® a hair growth stimulant?
The Prokeratin ® products, except Prokeratin® ULTRA, contain no direct hair growth stimulants such as Minoxidil.
However, the latest compounds Keratenosynergist® and Phytoproxium® together (available only in Prokeratin® ULTRA), show promising results in recovering dormant hair follicles and sustaining healthy hair growth.
The tests performed on Prokeratin® ULTRA indicate an accelerated hair growth of the existing hair follicles.
Due to the fact that results may vary, no such definitive claims can be raised.
Prokeratin ® is designed to inhibit the excess of 5 alpha reductase enzyme in the scalp skin, around the hair follicle, which contributes to elevated levels of dihydrotestosterone DHT.
DHT signals the follicles to enter a phase of miniaturization thus producing smaller and smaller hair strands.
By keeping the 5ARD enzyme levels under control, less DHT influences the follicle and as result the hair strands grow better and stronger.
Phytoproxium® is used exclusively in Prokeratin®, plays an indirect role in the stimulation of hair growth.
Can I use Prokeratin® if I have severe skin problems such as severe rashes and acne?
Yes, you can. Its formulation is designed to offer an excellent dermatological tolerance and its ingredients are pure and totally natural.

Can Prokeratin® be used on children?
